I've considered the Solid vs Grated many times, and though I would prefer the solid for the exact reason mentioned: dropping small parts. I also live in the Northeast where we get rain and salt/snow. I have a cheap plastic version of Racedeck coin patter in the solid. There are two schools of thought with this:Ģ) Solid tiles so things don't fall through. Even dropping a screw/bolt that doesn't fit may randomly shoot the part a random direction. Things can and will drop into the open spaces. I wouldn't personally choose open/grated tiles. I'd be pick the brightest color scheme possible, and potentially choose a darker section on wear areas to hide soiling.Ģ. My white tiles that are not on tire contact area are still perfect.ġ. White tiles stain from dirt on my tires contact spots. I used black and white checkers with a border of red then white around the outside. Then slide each section back in, they just clip together easily.Īnyways I like your design 10. Pressure wash them off and squeegee out the floor to remove the rocks/sand/debris. I pull the tiles in long, full length sections out to the driveway 2 or 3 tiles wide. My only issue is a creeper won’t roll, but being clean I just slide under now. I use a hydraulic floor jack easily, jack stands no problem. All the water and slush/snow falls through the grated tiles. I park on them every day through winter as well. So the coating eventually wore out in parking surfaces. My garage floor was also bare for years and the salt had migrated into the slab. I park my daily in the garage and in winter the little embedded rocks in tires and all the salt beats the heck out a coating. The coating lasted a long time (professional installation), however it did wear out. I had my floors coated prior to switching. I have Swisstrax ribtrax flooring and is similar to what you are looking at. with the tool cabinet and the garage system I will have less than 5" of space on both sides on that back wallĪnd here's the variation with the blue schemeĦ) black borders, blue outline, graphite fillħ) black borders, blue outline, alloy fillĨ) black border, alloy outline, blue fillĩ) black border, graphite outline, blue fillġ0) thinner black border, blue outline, alloy/graphite checkerĪlright guys and gals.what do you think? any suggestions? I really appreciate your input as i'll probably be ordering the tile some time this month once I decide the route I choose walls will be a medium gray like my interior and ceiling will remain flat white. so I had ideas of incorporating blue in the tile scheme but also thought maybe keep in simple and leave it without the blue. I have the Husky all black garage system coming in which will be 243" across the back wall along with my 56" HF upper/lower toolbox with side cabinet and locker which comes to 86.5" wide. LED lighting I installed to brighten the garage up! the right side tho dips down about 4' but still retains the 23' depth. here's a few designs I came up with and maybe you guys have something better to suggest. Hey guys and gals! so i'm in the middle of trying to get a design idea of how I want my garage flooring to be.
